I have also done an normal install of Mandriva 2010.0 (official) for 
i586 from a CD to a Toshiba 8GB USB stick it includes SUGAR 0.86.2 and 
works well.

NOTE: This is nothing new for Mandriva. I tested a very early version of 
Mandriva Flash several years ago. It did not have sugar and would not 
update as USB capacity  was too small.
