  Dear Nonprofit Community Member:

In 2001, Boston University School of Management initiated a new way of
engaging future leaders in working with the nonprofit sector. Boston
University MBA Link Day is a one-day consulting event that matches Boston
non-profit organizations with teams of Boston University MBA students,
faculty, and alumni to solve a specific issue facing the organization.

This year's Link Day will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2009. As a
member of the public and nonprofit community, we would like to give you the
opportunity to recommend your organization or other organizations you are
familiar with for participation in Link Day. In the past, Link Day teams
have consulted with organizations such as Dress for Success Boston, BOSTnet,
The Food Project, Beacon Academy, Span Inc. and Federated Dorchester
Neighborhood Houses on a wide range of topics from fundraising strategies
and website development to marketing plans. 2008 projects included:

* Adoption and Foster Care Mentoring: Developing an in-house accounting
system * New Hope Inc: Creating content for marketing material * Cape
Verdean Association of Brockton: Building an electronic system which allowed
for tracking clients and gathering statistics

"Mission-Based Massachusetts" is an email distribution list for topics of
general interest to people who care about nonprofit, philanthropic,
community-based, grassroots, and other mission-based organizations in the
Bay State.

It is a moderated, flame-free email distribution list that is open to anyone
who is interested in the topic and willing to adhere to the basic principles
of civil society.  The name of the group was chosen to encourage inclusion
of persons from all sectors and demographic categories, rather than just
nonprofit and philanthropic professionals.
