<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_extra">Please excuse the top post.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">From what I understand, from the flights that Samson identified, which are the ones with reasonable layovers -- a consideration that the new SFC travel guidelines allow him to take into account -- the difference is a wash. However, if you think it is necessary to vote on whether or not to support Samson's layover in Boston, let me add another data point. Google, in addition to giving SL $3300 towards mentor travel, also gave us $4500 to be used at the discretion of the mentors. Since we had 10 active mentors, that would mean that between Samson and myself, we have an additional $900 we could put towards travel. In any case, I think it is ludicrous not to give a community member this opportunity.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">As far as Lionel's argument that we could be buying tablets instead, to me it doesn't hold water, because (a) the travel money is earmarked for travel, and (b) for what ever reason, no one is suggesting that Michael's travel money be put towards laptops.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">regards.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">-walter</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sun, Sep 24, 2017 at 2:59 PM, Samson Goddy <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:samsongoddy@gmail.com" target="_blank">samsongoddy@gmail.com</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="auto"><span class=""><div><br><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sep 24, 2017 7:44 PM, "Adam Holt" <<a href="mailto:holt@laptop.org" target="_blank">holt@laptop.org</a>> wrote:<br type="attribution"><blockquote class="m_-7797041519818255163quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div class="m_-7797041519818255163quoted-text">On Sun, Sep 24, 2017 at 1:21 PM, Walter Bender <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:walter.bender@gmail.com" target="_blank">walter.bender@gmail.com</a>></span> wrote:<br></div><div class="gmail_extra"><div class="gmail_quote"><div class="m_-7797041519818255163quoted-text"><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">+1 from me.<div><br></div><div>This is a timely matter, so please vote ASAP.</div><div><br></div><div>regards.</div><span class="m_-7797041519818255163m_-2776116871794924289gmail-HOEnZb"><font color="#888888"><div><br></div><div>-walter</div></font></span></div><div class="m_-7797041519818255163m_-2776116871794924289gmail-HOEnZb"><div class="m_-7797041519818255163m_-2776116871794924289gmail-h5"><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Fri, Sep 22, 2017 at 11:12 PM, Sameer Verma <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:sverma@sfsu.edu" target="_blank">sverma@sfsu.edu</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="auto">Second.<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Sameer</div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div><div class="m_-7797041519818255163m_-2776116871794924289gmail-m_7779993167304282763h5">On Sep 22, 2017 10:48 PM, "Walter Bender" <<a href="mailto:walter.bender@gmail.com" target="_blank">walter.bender@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br type="attribution"></div></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><div class="m_-7797041519818255163m_-2776116871794924289gmail-m_7779993167304282763h5"><div dir="ltr"><div>As has been discussed, Samson would like to have a layover in Boston on the way back from the Google Summer of Code summit.
