The goal of Sugar is to improve the educational experience of its school age users. For the vast majority of Sugar users who have limited or no access to the internet, the school server is a vital and integral element of the improved experience. I understand your immediate concern is to register voters for 2017 election cycle, but the real question is how can Sugar work better with a school server. XSCE has taken the responsibility for development of the school server from OLPC. It is sad but true that XSCE deployments are increasingly divorced from Sugar - largely because Sugar is viewed as limited to the XO and because XO's are de facto unavailable for deployment (except as recylcled). What we should be asking is why our early users are now apparently moving away from Sugar. Could it be because we take no interest in their needs? Is Plan Ceibal still based on Sugar? What aspects of Sugar has it found valuable and what limitations has it found? What about Rwanda? What about Peru? What about Paraguay?
