What I am seeing is the two systems can see each other. When I change the chat to my neighborhood it shows up on the other system. I can join it from the other system, it starts chat but I cannot type into the window and do not see any of the text from the other system. On the original system, (the one that first opened chat) I can type and see the output. The second system opens as a private chat, changing this to my neighborhood has no affect. Question : Does the Collaboration server I am connected too make a difference (in my settings)? This system is closed and does not have internet access. The final system in Uganda will not have internet access at all. So do I need to change the Collaboration server name to the schoolserver (XS 0.6) name the systems are hooked too? If so what is the name I need to use? Is it the domain name (uganda.org) that I setup as part of the server install? Here is a simplified step by step to get you going..... Start Chat in the F3 Ring of applications of sugar -click on the Chat top bar (O with a single dot ) -Set it to sharing by selecting the (O with multiple dots) that drops down under your mouse. -It will connect as it counts down -type your message in the bottom left part of the window; hit return ( Enter) *At this time a chat icon should appear in your f1 Network neighborhood _If you click on it you can rejoin it. *Anyone else connected to the jabber (or ad-hoc network) will also be able to join this chat by clicking on it in their F1 Network Neighborhood screen. -Messages typed on your chat will appear on anyone else's chat that has connected to it, and visa-versa.
