To give economically poorer elementary students computer experience. Many children in the neighborhood where I live do not have computer access at home, and limited access at school. Elementary children in particular are beginning middle school and high school with less technology skills than the middle income students in the suburbs. B. Helping the middle income and affluent students become mentors to the students listed above. These students would also be leaning about class distinction within their own community. 6. As "normal" computers are not suitable for young children because of their lack of sturdiness, especially for the very young ones, the OLPC-XO seems to be the perfect machine.
