OK, I tried the code in the Terminal Activity again a few times, being sure I was typing it in correctly and now I get this result:<div><br></div><div>ls : cannot access ld: No such file or directory</div><div> /home/olpc/Activities/Scratch.activity:</div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#548DD4">activity Help locale</font> NEWS Readme.txt <font class="Apple-style-span" color="#00B050">ScratchXO.image</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#548DD4">bin</font> <font class="Apple-style-span" color="#00B050">license.txt</font> <font class="Apple-style-span" color="#548DD4">Media Projects.skel</font> ScratchPlugin UnicodePlugin </div><div><br></div><div>Then it returns a prompt. All very colorful, but I haven't a clue what it all means. See my initial message at the bottom to see what the problem is saving a Scratch project on XOs running build 802. This is happening on 3 distinct XOs. One has a developer key, the other 2 do not.</div><div><br></div><div>I do notice that the code on the prompt varies with the machine:</div><div><br></div><div>olpc@xo-27-90-C8 ~]$</div><div><br></div><div>olpc@xo-0D-5C-68 ~]$</div><div><br></div><div>olpc@xo-27-8A-0F ~]$</div><div><br></div><div>I assume these are just individual codes for each machine. </div><div><br></div><div>Have others experienced this problem saving in Scratch? Is it new to 802? Is there an easy fix? I will be happy to "grannie-fy" it into the wiki and or FLOSS manual if you tell me what it is! </div><div><br></div><div>Thanks,</div><div>Caryl<br><hr id="stopSpelling"><br><br>

Hi Walter and All,<div><br></div><div>I tried your suggestion and the Terminal returned(blue but not a link): </div><div><br></div><div><font class="EC_Apple-style-span" color="#1F497D">/home/olpc/Activities/Scratch.activity</font><br><br></div><div>I went back into Scratch and it still failed to Save. I assumed the "l" characters were lowercase "Ls," after trying upper case "Is" and getting a "command not found." I have not tried 1s. I also assumed the tilde is the one just to the left of the 1 key.</div><div><br></div><div>Any idea what is happening?</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks,</div><div>Caryl<br></div><div><hr id="EC_stopSpelling">Date: Sat, 4 Jul 2009 13:20:49 -0400<br>Subject: Re: [IAEP] Problems Saving in Scratch<br>From: walter.bender@gmail.com<br>To: cbigenho@hotmail.com<br>CC: testing@lists.laptop.org; iaep@lists.sugarlabs.org; support-gang@laptop.org<br><br>My off the cuff guess is that the directory scratch is trying to save to is owned by root. Hi,<div><br></div><div>Two grandkids playing with Scratch in build 802. Both have received this message when trying to save their projects:</div><div><br></div><div>"Save failed:</div><div>Folder may be locked or read-only"</div>
<div><br></div><div>Is this a bug or are they doing something wrong? It happens both with a simple "Save" and a "Save As"</div><div><br></div><div>I checked the Journals. One shows 535 MB free, the other 545 MB free.</div>
