I have been talking with Kim and Michael at OLPC this past week about a first-boot getting-started guide.  It sounds like at the very least some content will be included in the 8.1.2 release.  The 8.2.0 release of Sugar, which *should* be packaged for the upcoming G1G1 mark 2, will have a first boot activity that will display the best getting started guide that exists at that time.  The 8.2.0 content will of course have to be updated for the new UI changes, etc. I would be happy to help organize things at 1cc and try to wrangle funds for food if people would like to hold the event there.
