[IAEP] [SLOBS] [SLOB] yet another motion regarding Samson's travel

Please excuse the top post.
>From what I understand, from the flights that Samson identified, which are
the ones with reasonable layovers -- a consideration that the new SFC
travel guidelines allow him to take into account -- the difference is a
wash. However, if you think it is necessary to vote on whether or not to
support Samson's layover in Boston, let me add another data point. Google,
in addition to giving SL $3300 towards mentor travel, also gave us $4500 to
be used at the discretion of the mentors. Since we had 10 active mentors,
that would mean that between Samson and myself, we have an additional $900
we could put towards travel. In any case, I think it is ludicrous not to
give a community member this opportunity.
As far as Lionel's argument that we could be buying tablets instead, to me
it doesn't hold water, because (a) the travel money is earmarked for
travel, and (b) for what ever reason, no one is suggesting that Michael's
travel money be put towards laptops.
regards.
