[IAEP] [Sugar-devel] This list in need YOUR help

Hi,

Just to share OLPC France experience on the same issue with mailman on our
private mailing list.
We had lot of junk mails received every day on this mailing list from
mailbox that didn't subscribe to the list.
Manual administration of this is probably a full time job for a moderator
so days after days this mails saturated our server and we had a crash (no
place left on the disk) every two month.

The problem was solved when we decided to check the option "Discard held
messages older than this number of days." in the list settings. We choose
to autodiscard held mails after 8 days. Of course there is a risk to loose
some mails but the sender is notified so we could hope that he had time to
contact a member directly.

Just my two cents.

              Lionel.
