Hi George,
Sugarizer is now available at Google Play. It is also on Amazon Apps (for Kindle devices), and the Firefox marketplace. I am guessing that if any apps can be loaded from Google Play onto the XO Tablet, Sugarizer will be too.
I may have loaded something when I was playing with the tablet in the summer of 2013, but I'm not sure. Someone will need to try to find out. The device is supposed to be a regular Android tablet when it isn't on the "Dream" screen.
If someone else has one, maybe they can test it out and let us all know what the possibilities are for adding other Android apps.

I'd be careful about promising that anything can be loaded on the "android side".
My experience playing with this device is that the loader is signed, and locked. And vivitar refused to give me a key, or a procedure to unlock, that would permit me to load any arbitrary code.

Hi Folks,
While browsing for Amazon's Black Friday deals I came across the XO tablet (not the same as a regular XO) being offered for $79 with free shipping (if you have Amazon Prime). It is definitely worth that much. It is basically a 7" Vivitar tablet with a green "skin" to make it an "XO." I don't think much about the "educational software" that is on it, but my almost-4-year-old granddaughter finds plenty of things to keep her amused. Here's a link to the listing…. it is only offered at that price through Dec. 1.

Sugar is not on the tablet, however you should be able to run OLPC France's Sugarizer version on the Android "side" of the tablet. Here is a link to a demo of Sugarizer and info on how to get it as an app:

P.S. The camera feature of the tablet is excellent.
