(1) be a member of the community
(2) be willing to put in a few hours a week (a bit more time in the
beginning) keeping tabs of progress
(3) have some familiarity with the task at hand

We try to have multiple mentors per project both to lighten the load
and being more eyes and ears to the tasks.
