Hi Christoph, Tracy, everyone,

Some time ago I spoke about a course around ICT4D we are setting up in Amsterdam.
Here is the plan we came up with, we would be very pleased to hear what you think of it.

Week 1: 7-12 January (calendar week 2).

5 lectures a 2 uur (11-13.00) dit zijn de echte ICT 4 D colleges. B.v.

but tbd

     1) Introductie: vak en thematiek (allemaal)

     2) ICT in development (voorbeelden en issues) (CIS)

     3) ICT4D technology (challenges) (CS)

     4) ICT4D technology (solutions) (CS)

     5) ICT4D Software engineering (CS)

4 lectures a 2 (10-11.00, every day, but not Monday)

     Students present papers, ideas etc.

4 lectures a 2 uur (13-15.00, every day, but not Monday)

     Guest speakers (Chris Reij, ...) (mostly CIS oriented)



Week 2: 15-19 January (calendar week 3).

4 lectures a 2 uur (11-13.00)

     Ma: Education: XOs, schools, teaching material etc

     Di: Voice technology:  (CS)

     Wed: An XO deployment in Suriname (very concrete)

     Thu: Voice technology for markets in XYZ (very concrete)

         after the lecture, students get the task of forming groups, and

formulating the challenge they want to

         tackle, and the method they want to do it..

2 practical sessions 2 uur (13-15.00. Monday (XO) + Tuesday (VoiceTech)

1 lectures a 2 uur (13-15.00 Vrijdag. Groups present themselfs and their

ideas).



Week 3: 22-26 January (calendar week 4).

Individual meetings with groups.

1 lectures a 2 uur (13-15.00 Vrijdag) Progress report



Week 4: 28.1. - 1.2. (calendar week 5).

Individual meetings with groups.

1 lecture a 3 uur (bij voorkeur Vrijdag 9.00) *scheduling because of

conflict with my other course.

     Presentation of project results



no exam.
