Hummmm....
Does anyone know if what I want to do will work on os860? I just want to keep certain Activities on the SD card without having them install to the XO. I am currently using os874.
Thanks!Caryl
P.S. I am thinking that if this can work, it will be great for all XO-1 deployments who want to have more Activities on their laptops. I was in the process of writing an "Educator's Guide" to doing this (to post on the wiki) when I ran into trouble and found I couldn't make it work the way I had hoped (extra Activities "live" on SD card and don't take up memory storage space on the XO).

(to the flash memory)When you use an activity from the journal.. the activity don't copy.. the activity is installed with the files fromthe journal.. a simbolic link's... When you remove the entry from the journal.. it remove the activity...That was happend on old sugar.. in the new.. I don't know.. but I think that is equal...

I don't want them to "live" on the XO, I want them to "live" on the SD card only. The card won't need to be removed... that was just to test where the Activities were.
