No, a chess AI would easily fit in the CPU budget.

(... especially if one avoided Python for the AI and stuck to the usual
implementation languages for such things.  There are several in the
Debian software collection which might be repurposed.  A Sugar wrapper
for xboard doesn't feel like it would be too silly.)
