"FIGMENT is an explosion of creative energy. It’s a free, annual
celebration
of pARTicipatory art and culture where everything is possible. For one
weekend each summer, it transforms Governors Island into a large-scale
collaborative artwork… and then it’s gone."
Come take the free ferry to NY City's beautiful Governor's Island, just
off the southern tip of Manhattan, and find our OLPC/Sugar volunteer
crew in "NOLAN PARK" :

Directions to the free ferries -- many of us will be taking the 10AM
Saturday (June 12) ferry from Lower Manhattan here:

Best of all, the weather has cleared up completely morning & early
afternoon too, for our New-Solar-Panel demo with our 10+ XOs and XO-1.5s:
"One Laptop per Child (OLPC NYC) invites you to create your own art and
music with digital paintbrushes and music makers on our rugged green
laptops,
and communicate wirelessly and live with other kids, using solar-power!
Build a colorful photo-tapestry together with other kids around the world,
or work on a piece together with your new friends at FIGMENT.
Our software empowers kids to take control of their own imaginations,
and just Begin Creating. We spark young minds across Asia, Africa,
Latin America and North American schools making it possible for kids to
collaborate freely across continents. Seize your tools!"
Hope to see you there, helping to make the above art-will-set-you-free
vision a reality -- look for us in "NOLAN PARK" (eastern park of the
island) where we'd love you to help Marife Mago organizing and
presenting Sugar activities -- for what is very likely to be thousands
of visitors :)
