ZaReason, a linux hardware reseller, is offering ubuntu on a stick for
$39.00 for a four gig stick.  They call it sticky linux:)

ZaReason is an ubuntu shop.  Ubuntu is not well regarded for pushing
improvements back upstream.  On the other hand, every linux on usb
user drives the product forward.
