The additional day might be used to start hacking on the top-priority
actionable item identified by each group.  Experienced contributors can
use this opportunity to guide newcomers through the procedures to get
things done.  Very constructionist, uh?

This works very well for development, but it could probably be applied
to marketing and other activities as well.
