I believe Ubuntu exclusively use Sugar packages maintained by Jani, and 
that Jani has not adopted any of my packages.  But I don't know for 
sure.

Sorry - what does that mean?

Are those builds located as tags in the Git sources, or what exactly 
does those numbers refer to at the source level (*not* binary images - 
those are unusable as reference for us distributors)?

Yes, it is pretty easy to *add* other package sources to a Debian-based 
system.  But possibly not so easy to maintain.

So I would not rely on such mixture of sources on a larger scale, and I 
would not recommend non-developers to mix sources!
