Some precedent for XO lending libraries in Boston (operational, but not 
solidly implemented - the ad hoc "email individuals" method) and 
Australia (more organized / better public API, but still under 
construction last I heard) - setting up Rochester as a Shining Example 
of what Lending Libraries Should Be would rock.

Oooh. Go for it! The Washington DC group has also been interested in 
similar things. Catch jelkner or lfaraone on #sugar to ask; see if they 
can get you in touch with Mike Lee (or I can, over private email).

Sounds like #2 except during school hours. Sugar on a Stick 
(http://sugarlabs.org/go/Sugar_on_a_Stick#Fedora_based_Sugar_on_a_Stick) 
a possible thing to try here - would need some linux-savvy techies to 
make sure it works on the school's hardware first... this is *very* beta 
software - Caroline can say more.
