I spent a fair bit of time reading the history behind this. The<br>
discussion, like many others, evolved from discussing the content of<br>
the patch and what it did into many broader topics.<br>
<br>
Still, sifting through the threads, I felt a general sense of<br>
agreement over the change the patch affected, both in coding and<br>
