FWIW, this particular patch is for the Dextrose-specific updater and
thus not applicable to upstream Sugar. We've started efforts to upstream
our updater [1], but since there doesn't seem to be much interest in it
it's on the backburner (needs thorough testing before we can propose it
for upstream inclusion).
