Why not use the jabber server to deliver short messages to all laptops?

For new activities, the updater should check automatically and present a
message on the home view. To make all laptops download a new activity,
all you have to do is add it to the (wiki) page where the updater
checks.

Anish, does the new updater do this? Is the latest patch already
included in Dextrose?
