 Forgot to link to the proposal page
 [http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Design_Team/Proposals/Fonts_For_Reading],
 which has some screenshots of Read with a few fonts (more could be added
 perhaps). The one I would choose is Century Schoolbook L, it was
 specifically developed for young children text books, readable and
 esthetically pleasing.
