 1. Paint something in the center of the screen in Paint-49/OLPC 13.1.0
 os12.
  2. Highlight with the square dotted-selector tool.
  3. Use the GUI menu to copy the selection.
  4. Press the Paste button in the GUI.
  5. Move the freshly pasted area using the mouse before it becomes
 permanent after losing focus (except for the undo tool).  A "Shadow" copy
 of the paste will appear underneath where it first appeared.
  6. Undoing the Paste and Repasting seems to work around the problem.
