Comment:

 Ok, just discussed again with Manuel. We both could use the clear button
 fine most of the time. Agreed we could enhance the overall (see my
 original request #3499). But, I think we can live with the current state
 for 0.98.

 Gary, if you disagree and feel strong about it please comment and we can
 discuss reiterate.
