 I downloaded the image that you mentioned in comment:8:ticket:3478, ran it
 on a KVM QEMU VM and I could reproduce this issue: the cursor disappeared
 when I press F6 the twice and when I put the cursor over an icon. After
 moving the cursor, it appears.

 This is the command that I'm using to run the VM:
