 Actually this is easy to reproduce:

 - start the XO

 - without any other interaction use the zoom keys to switch between the
 views

 ---> the grey feedback is shown because the cursor is over the XO icon,
 even after moving out the cursor we do get the grey feedback now when
 using the zoom keys
