 vi or ed aren't really user-friendly for kids (or adults!).
 Also, many tutorials and other documentation on the web (about linux
 stuff) mentions nano when there is a need to edit a file in a terminal.

 It is not a default installed package in Fedora, but it has been in Ubuntu
 for a while now.
