 Got it. Here is what is happening:

 After you restore the collapsed stack, the top-of-stack block is ahead of
 the other blocks in the list, so it is found first when the cursor is over
 the rectangle that bounds the block. So I need to check to see if I am
 hitting a transparent area (which I do when testing for clicks).
