 point, but I feel that the control panel might be a good fit, too, given
 that it's the place where system-related interactions take place and the
 hardware profile is related to that.

 During the next release cycle we're planning to shave as many icons as
 possible off the control panel, because it has become so cluttered.
 Control panel items are also loaded at startup-time, taking up resources
 even when not in use.

 If Analyze doesn't seem like a good place for this functionality, perhaps
 you could fold it in a tab of "About My Computer".
