 Well, we might also want to display the privacy policy. I do so your
 point, but I feel that the control panel might be a good fit, too, given
 that it's the place where system-related interactions take place and the
 hardware profile is related to that.

 Smolt is also available for other distributions:
 https://fedorahosted.org/smolt/

 Since it might not be present on all builds, though, I made its appearance
 conditional (just like Walter did for his Touchpad CP entry).
