 The recent {{{index_updated}}} changes ([http://git.sugarlabs.org/projects
 /sugar-
 datastore/repos/mainline/commits/3644facf0a296c7d55b44394942b866529361248
 commit 3644fac]) dropped the {{{_is_empty()}}} check in
 {{{LayoutManager.__init__()}}} and thus reintroduced a race condition that
 is triggered by the test suite.
