Comment:

 I think that we still can (and should) make some improvements in the DS so
 that data cannot get so easily corrupted.

 But there's still the problem of an activity setting the keep property to
 'blah blah', for example. I think that nor Activities nor Sugar should
 rely on the metadata having the expected contents and have code to deal
 with it, which is what Daniel said, AFAIU.
