Comment(by tonyforster):

 Custom pairings should be sliding rather than fixed at least as in
 physical sliderules (and I have 2 sliderules one puts S and T fixed and
 the other on the slider so maybe all pairs should slide?)
 For example S and CI are fixed so I cant do sin(45)x2=1.414
