 I tried a manual restore on os802 (aka 8.2.1) by replacing the
 .sugar/default/datastore directory and ctrl-alt-erase restarting. This
 proceeded with no errors and the journal doesn't have the 0% progress bar
 thing.

 However, this version doesn't seem to have a migration, so maybe the
 journal format hasn't changed. I'll try os850.
