 As part of http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Features/RemovePresenceService,
 the shell will manage the connections and the Presence Service will be
 activated only when legacy activities try to use it.

 This branch removes functionality and makes sure that the basic
 information that activities need is fetched synchronously.
