#1951: rp-pppoe absent in soas-2-blueberry
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
    Reporter: uhu | Owner: tomeu
        Type: defect | Status: new
    Priority: Normal | Milestone: Blueberry
Component: sugar | Version: SoaS 2 (Blueberry)
Severity: Major | Keywords: rp-pppoe absent
Distribution: Fedora | Status_field: New
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
The internet/network configuration programm rc-pppoe (Roaring Penguin
PPPOE) is absent in the actual version of soas-2-blueberry.
This means that normal user have only ip assigned by DHCP or has to
 configure them by command-line.
It is not possible to configure other network services like wireless
(didn´t try) or from internet provider, for example adsl without a
 workaround.
The workaround is to download rp-pppoe from Fedora 12 repositories, store
it into a removable media and pass it over to hdd in case of an hdd
instalation. Hanging an installed soas hdd on a network with internet for
download is possible. The worst case is in the live cd session where the
end user has to install rp-pppoe in every session from pendrive for having
 internet access.
In case of an installation of soas-2-blueberry in the pendrive it may be
easy to stick it to an other o.s. on an other pc with running internet for
 downloading this file (didn´t try).
rp-pppoe does not claim absent dependencies on soas-2-blueberry and works
well with adsl (Anteldata in Uruguay in my case).
