Comment:

 The white-bar is actually the bookmarks bar. The problem in this case was
 ebooks that were downloaded by Browse did not have a activity id set in
 the metadata, so the home view code was starting up the activity with the
 first instance (which is the standalone activity without any object to
 display).

 Pushed a workaround in Read's write_file() method.
