 yup, thats what I meant by "adding composite effects"

 thats known issue for 0.86(its hard to say how to isolate gconf settings
 that sugar rewrites)

 I'm thinking about removing gconf reseting of key modifier in jhconvert
 distros, since sugar makes gnome compozite session unuseful.
