Comment(by FGrose):

 Logs attached of boot from iso image as cdrom and unformatted, fixed-sized
 virtual disc.

 2 Journal Full alerts are presented at every activity invocation and
 resume.  This points away from expanding disc hypothesis. Filing this
 comment and will reboot from virtual harddisc next.
