 OK, a big fix for 0.86. Sure. But this bug (inoperable Frame) needs fixing
 NOW, so we need consensus. Are there any reasons we *shouldn't* just make
 the dialog nonmodal? (It would still get in the way, but at least the
 frame would work.)
