 Think I bumped into this before several times while trying various new
 distros with Sugar, and blamed the distros for the error :-) Having a bit
 of a poke while finally in a real jhbuild vm environment, I finally
 realised that IRC-5 from activities.sugarlabs.org is missing ircactivity
 module from its bundle causing it to fail at launch time. XoIRC-4 from
 wiki.laptop.org installs and runs fine (though it's missing the shiny new
 notification feature).
