Comment(by eben):

 I should make that more clear.  Canceling the transfer should always
 remove the transfer icon for the child who canceled it.  The other
 participant in the transfer should simply be notified that the transfer
 was canceled, with the option to dismiss the transfer icon.

 In fact, there should be a notification at the other end to alert the
 child of the cancellation (or the completion!) of a transfer.
