Comment(by CarolineM):
@eben
* When I create a new game the cards do not have 1 and 2 on the back.
- did you see the options in the create toolbar at the top? the paired
option?
no I did not see it. Even after this comment I didn't see it. Finally I
got curious what the 4 cards up there were for so I clicked. THEN I saw 1
2 1 2 and got it. Until then I had not clue.
Maybe an easy fix is default to having that turned on then a user can
click if they want to turn it off. The example has it turned on so my
expectation was they should be there.
* Does it autosave as I create a new game?
Nope, maybe it should. But we can create more then one game. Maybe the kid
would need to create another activity instance for creating a new game?
Sounds a bit strange to me as well. In my class - I did not have an issue
about that.
I guess my question really is. If I shutdown my computer, or the power
dies on it, and I've created a couple of pairs in a new game, will they
still be there when I log in again?
I click create tab.
I create a pair.
I save the pair. - at this point I would think it would be in my journal
and unlosable.
I create a new pair and save the pair. I think at this point i'd want the
version in my journal updated.
Now I click play. I think I'd expect to play the game I was just creating.
Now I click the create tab again. I;d expect to be able to continue adding
pairs.
I noticed some kids were quick to delete pairs rather then edit them. It
woudl be nice if the kid who clicks delete delete delete in the pairs then
changes his mind can find a version in the journal with all his pairs in
it.
The whole saving thing is tough. I'm not at all sure I have it right.
* The lips and eye icons need hover helper text
- hover its is not something we use in the UI at all afaik. Maybe Eben can
comment what he thinks.
I don;t know what the right solution is. I'm just reporting that its just
not obvious what the eye and the lips mean to the kids on day 1. Don't
most things in Sugar pop up some text when you hover over them?
UI is not my strong point, so please pay much more attention to my problem
reports then my attempts at making solution suggestions.
Thanks!
