Comment:

 Just re-tested with soas3.img (latest Sugar I can run) from marco on an
 XO, and the battery device icon is confirmed still to not auto update to
 show changes in battery charge. The battery icon does show the correct
 charge level (or state) on a reboot, so it suggests the soas3 distro is
 getting the right battery state, and providing it (but only at boot time).

 Removing as a blocker, but still a significant loss of utility for at
 least XO laptop users.
