 Could the start icon be a white on black activity icon as per Eben's
 original designs? Here's his example for write:

 I also wonder if 'New' would have been a better word than 'Start' when I
 first saw it I was thinking 'start what? The default (which would be the
 last journal entry)'... but this one is a string change so would need more
 eyeballs to make a call.
