 We are working on a new D-Bus API for tubes. This new API is more flexible
 and coherent with the rest of the Telepathy API. This is still a draft for
 now and, as part of the undrafting process, I ported Read to use it.

 This shouldn't be merged while the API is a draft.

 Note that this branch depends on #757.
